In the Spotlight - Interview with Sue Fennon

What is your role at BTP?

I am Secretary, Administrator and Receptionist at BTP – I basically do everything!

How did you come to work at BTP in the first place?

I came to work at BTP nearly 10 years ago. Prior to this, after leaving school, I worked for another architectural practice for 11 years before starting my family.  Whilst my boys were growing up, I worked in the Personnel Department of a large retail group for 8 years.

What has been your most enjoyable project at BTP?

I most enjoyed my involvement in a large ‘Mortgage Rescue’ project that BTP was engaged in.  My role was the administration part of the contract.  I communicated on a daily basis with the client and their tenants.  I found this job very rewarding because I felt I could be helpful and sympathetic to the needs of tenants, that may have been going through very difficult circumstances.  In general, I enjoy the variety of tasks I carry out on a daily basis and acting as the main meeter and greeter as visitors arrive at BTP reception.

If you were not a Secretary, what would your dream job be?

If I wasn’t a Secretary, I would love to have become an actress starring in serious TV dramas.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

Unfortunately I don’t have any weird hobbies!  However I am partial to the odd glass or three of rosé, enjoy socialising with friends and living it up on Mediterranean cruises.
