Project Description

Design of 70 supported units for people with range of learning disabilities.

BTP were architects on the design and delivery of 70 supported units across four sites in Manchester for people with diverse learning needs.

BTP designed the homes, in collaboration with partners and experts in this field, making sure that all rooms are fully accessible. The scheme delivers 70 self-contained flats, communal areas for staff and residents and a dedicated dementia suite. They also championed the use of assistive technologies to ensure the health and safety of residents and to future proof the scheme.

The £8 million initiative has been funded in partnership with Manchester City Council (MCC), the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), and three housing associations.

Mosscare St Vincent's Housing Group will run Dalbeattie Street in Harpurhey and Constable Street in Gorton. Scout Drive in Wythenshawe is now part of Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, and Great Places Housing Group will manage Northfield Road in New Moston.

Client Testimonial

“It was great to work so collaboratively with the other partners to ensure we created homes which will help to transform people’s lives, now and in the future. I’m really proud to have designed these homes, which include facilities to benefit residents in the long term.”
