Project Description

External over cladding works to 14-storey tower block

We were appointed as architects for the contractor to deliver external over cladding to a 14-storey tower block in Salford. This included all detailing, roof and eco pod, windows and cladding systems.

Key Features

  • Establishing a working group to resolve the detailed design of all aspects of the external cladding.
  • Co-ordinating the detailed information from all sub-contractors to provide a coherent pragmatic solution to all junctions.
  • Identifying risks to the project, then innovating and mitigating risks. For example, prevention of render staining from poor detailing.
  • Delivering less carbon emissions and waste.
  • Providing low maintenance and life cycle costs.
  • Designing excellent scheme which addresses fuel poverty through high U values.
  • Providing a comprehensive package and critical overview for the Contractor.
  • Co-ordinating multiple stakeholder requirements.
  • Delivering project, within a tight time frame and limited budget.
