Project Description

BTP were architects on a Design and Build contract on a programme to deliver 52 new affordable homes for New Charter Housing and Kier Construction in Tameside.

BTP's design provides a mix of modern, desirable one-bedroom apartments and two- and three-bedroom houses and communal garden area.

This was a challenging brownfield site, immediately adjacent to a railway, with abnormal ground conditions and drainage issues. We worked closely with the client, planners and Network Rail to design a site that addressed drainage problems, provided a secure boundary to the railway with design features to reduce noise and visual impacts.
