Project Description

Transformation of a former restaurant into a new Headquarters, offices and community day centre.

BTP were appointed as architects on the project which has seen the transformation of a run-down Chinese restaurant into state of the art offices and dementia support/community facilities.

The building in Church Road, which had been vacant since 2009, has been given a complete overhaul. BTP's design provides a suite of new offices for Age UK Trafford's staff and a day centre, including a memory loss centre; 'silver surfers' lounge dedicated to teaching and improving digital skills amongst older people; and a space for social activities.

Key Features

The charity say the new building will allow it to continue its work with current clients and extend their outreach within the community.

Vicky Saunders, BTP Director, said the work will help ensure the future of an important town centre landmark.

She said: “The work of Age UK Trafford has never been more paramount, as a firm we were honoured to be chosen to work on this exciting project.

“Given its location in the heart of the community it was always a great shame that this building remained empty for so long. Now, thanks to Age UK Trafford, it will be transformed into a wonderful new facility."
