DIY SOS Veterans Village Wins RICS Regeneration Award

Congratulations to the DIYSOS Veteran's Village project team, who were declared winners of the North West RICS Regeneration Award at the Ceremony in Liverpool on Friday. This follows on from the team's success at the LABC awards earlier in April, where we picked up the 'Best Inclusive Building' Award.

This comprehensive project involved restoring and refurbishing two streets of empty and dilapidated properties on Newton Heath. Judges commended the project team, with BTP acting as Project Architects, which involved multiple local consultants, contractors and tradesmen — who volunteered their time and materials at an estimated worth of £2 million — to create 62 quality homes designed to suit the needs of veterans, including those with disabilities.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for further awards the project has been entered into, including the North West Regional Construction Awards and the UK Housing Awards.
