Repairing and repurposing a Grade II listed Church
BTP has successfully completed a project to remodel and refurbish the beautiful Grade II listed Hatherlow United Reformed Church near Romiley. Without this essential repurposing work and broadening its appeal to the wider community, the Church would not struggled to survive.
The sale of the Sunday school/Church Hall has enabled the Church to finance much needed maintenance work alongside the remodelling of the Church. The community and multi-use functions of the Sunday school have now been successfully incorporated into the Church.
The works include reconfigution of the nave and relocation of the some of the pews, installation of under-floor heating, kitchen and WC to provide the church with the flexibility required for multi-purpose community functions.
BTP is working with the URC on a separate project to convert the former Sunday school/church hall building into 11 apartments for Great Places Housing Group.
