The Jolly Brewer, Runcorn

Client

Liverpool Housing Trust

Project cost

£2.3m

Location

Murdishaw, Runcorn

Project Description

BTP were lead architects on a project to regenerate a derelict site in Runcorn to provide 18 modern new affordable homes.

The site is on The Ridgeway in Runcorn and close to the Murdishaw retail centre. It previously housed The Jolly Brewer public house, which was demolished in 2010. Prior to our work on the site with contractor Lovell, the area had become a magnet for anti-social behaviour.

BTP's design delivers 10 modern affordable apartments and 8 two-bedroom houses and helps to regenerate the local area.  We have provided natural surveillance and improved lighting to the site and extended the footpath to link to the Ridgeway and Murdishaw retail centre.

Client Testimonial

“This development has been two years in the making and will not only provides 18 new homes for LHT, but also greatly improve access links to the local shops for Murdishaw residents.”

Peter Rooney, Project Business Development Manager
